June 21, 2018 from 7pm-8:30pm
Join Spira in accessing higher states of awareness through mindfulness-based art workshops. Absolutely no experience is necessary. In fact, if you think you can’t draw but would love to create something beautiful that comes from your heart, these workshops are definitely for you.
Each 1 ½ hour workshop begins with an introduction to using the materials, followed by a short guided meditation and time to create your project. The topic and finished product varies but we generally use simple materials like colored pencils, pens, sharpies, and watercolor paint.
Classes are held in a fairly quiet space with meditation music in the background. In order to maintain an environment conducive to being in a meditative state and to respect each individual’s experience, conversation is kept to a minimum. We will be working on tables but if you’re more comfortable on the floor, I encourage you to bring a cushion or back jack.
On June 7, we will play with light on paper by creating a mandala of white light. (based on the work of Judith Cornell).
On June 14, we will learn the art of the zentangle, a drawing of structured patterns meant to induce a meditative state.
On June 21, we will create a self body state painting using watercolors and mixed media.
Each workshop is $20, which includes all materials. Payments are accepted in the form of Paypal: www.paypal.me/SpiraLotus/20 or Venmo at: @Spiridoula-Politis. Classes are LIMITED to 15, so register early. As soon as you make your payment, you are registered. Please feel free to email me at Spira9@gmail.com with any questions.
